1-27-23   THOUGHTS

I’m sure we have visited  Psalm 8 in our thoughts before.  It’s a good day to praise our God and think of His AWESOME MAJESTY!  How blessed we are that He has treated us so wonderfully.  Think of the glory of God’s creation, the heavens and the earth.  He is so mighty, yet He has loved  us so deeply and powerfully.  We are the focus of it all!  You take thought of us,  Father God,  and that is sufficient.  The bookends on the reading below:  “O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth”.                    

Ps 8:1-9   O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens! 2  From the mouth of infants and nursing babes You have established strength Because of Your adversaries, To make the enemy and the revengeful cease. 3   When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained;  4  What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? 5  Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! 6  You make him to rule over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, 7  All sheep and oxen, And also the beasts of the field,
8  The birds of the heavens and the fish of the sea, Whatever passes through the paths of the seas.  9  O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth!

Deut 33:26   "There is none like the God of Jeshurun, Who rides the heavens to your help, And through the skies in His majesty.
Job 11:7    "Can you discover the depths of God?  Can you discover the limits of the Almighty?
Ps 86:8-11    There is no one like You among the gods, O Lord, Nor are there any works like Yours.  9  All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Lord, And they shall glorify Your name.  10  For You are great and do wondrous deeds; You alone are God.  11  Teach me Your way, O LORD; I will walk in Your truth; Unite my heart to fear Your name.

My  Prayer:
Father, help us to continually consider your majesty, glory and Deity.  Unite our hearts that we might fear your name.  It is good for us, we know, to be focused on You.  Our salvation comes from your love to save us, and your power to accomplish the saving in Christ Jesus.  We thank you and praise you, that you have been mindful of us in such an awesome way.  In the name of that Great Savior,      Amen.
